Annulments – Do Not Let Marital Regrets Become Lifelong Regrets.
The laws vary in each state concerning annulments, however, in general there are still several reasons why an annulment can be granted in Pennsylvania. LaMonaca Law, is knowledgeable in all divorce and annulment laws of Pennsylvania (PA). We can help you determine if an annulment is the best solution for you and your spouse. For example, if one participant was under the age of 18, or unable to consent, or physically incapable, or if the marriage was done under duress, fraud, etc., then an annulment may be the best option for you. Certain other laws may applicable to your situation but this analysis must be done on a case-by-case basis because no two marriages or circumstances are the same.
Although many of the contemplated annulments may actually take the route of divorce, we can help you determine the grounds of your case and what course of action that you should take. Religious beliefs are often a reason for a court to uphold a choice for an annulment. Annulments essentially makes it so the marriage “on paper” did not exist. This allows the parties to move on as if they were never married rather than being labeled as an ex-husband or ex-wife. An annulment makes the marriage “null and void” for purposes of the marriage record. Some couples prefer this course of action, especially in cases of a rushed marriage.
While we cannot determine the status of your family separation issues, we can certainly give you our very best advice, based on many years of knowledge and staying up-to-date on all of the laws in family legal matters.
