What is STRATEGIC PLANNING

Strategic Planning

Welcome to LaMonaca Law’s Strategic Planning Program. By accepting our invitation to participate in this process, you are taking part in a one of a kind, “concierge” program that is designed to proactively address and plan your future, both personally and professionally. Strategic planning essentially has three parts. The first part, the “gap,” works with a client before the matter formally starts to plan into the case. The second part takes place later, once the matter begins, to put together a custom team to provide the client with the correct fit for their individual needs. Lastly, after the matter is concluded, the client has the option to continue the process with Family Law coaching to guide the client into their compelling future. Overseeing the team is our founder, Gregory P. LaMonaca, who with over 30 years of experience, author of multiple books, creator of the Brutally Honest System and multi-year award winning top family law attorney. Having created his system and perfecting his skills in courtrooms throughout the state for thousands of clients, his strategic planning program now allows him to use these skills outside of the courtroom, guiding and planning the case, with the client and the hand selected team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff, who work with the client in and out of the courtroom.

Historically, an individual with family law concerns would set up an appointment with a law firm, meet the attorney for the first time at the office, and discuss legal options and the facts of their case. That client would then EITHER hire the attorney to move forward, or simply take the information and wait till such time as they were ready to move forward. That could be a week, month, or years later. We refer to this waiting period as “the gap.” In some cases, during “the gap,” the individual reconciled and did not need to move forward.

Strategic planning was developed to “fill the gap,” and work with the individual between the consult and the date that they decide to file. During this period, whether a week, month or years, we work with that client proactively and in complete confidentiality. Working with the client to decide how, when and where to file? To discuss and work with the client in making sure they are ready to move forward and to discuss all known and anticipated issues when doing so. What does that mean? Before a client can move forward with the filing of a family law matter, barring an emergency, they should have a comprehensive evaluation of all of the factors that go into decisions that they are contemplating and the determinations that the courts will likely make. Once the other side is made aware either by disclosure or after filing, a “ripple effect” is begun whereby the outcomes are life changing, costly and will make the difference in the futures of the client, their children, spouse, future generations, etc.

Strategic Planning works with the client during this “gap” to educate the client on the law, tailor fit the law to their unique circumstances and goals, while proactively addressing all of the major factors, in advance, before a formal matter is filed, often before the other side has done so. This proactive planning strategically gives an advantage to the client on most fronts, all in a confidential setting, while providing the client with confidence and peace of mind while often alleviating much of the fear typically associated with moving forward.

Unlike individuals that may work with only 1 attorney to handle all matters, those individuals accepted into our Strategic Planning program receive the full array of everything that LaMonaca Law has to offer. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Access to meeting with the founder, and creator of the Strategic Planning process, developer of the Brutally Honest System and many of the specialty units, Author, award winning attorney and founder of LaMonaca Law with over 30 years’ experience, Gregory P. LaMonaca, Esquire.
  • Access to our partners, leadership team members, team members, many of which are multiyear, award winning in their respective categories.
  • Having a “Tailor Fit” team assembled for you, your unique circumstances and your particular goals as opposed to a “one size fits all” approach used by many other firms;
  • Having available to you every resource available within the firm;
  • Direct access to our “Specialty Units” which include:

Child Custody Unit

Child Custody UnitOften, the most important goal our clients have in a family law matter is the safeguarding and best interest of their children. Our Firm has combined centuries of experience representing the most basic to the most complicated Custody matters through the State, Interstate and Internationally. While we always work towards an amicable agreement, should that not be possible, we proactively assemble our team to fight for what matters most. We have had trials in most of the suburban counties, interstate and internationally. Cases that were settled, lasted one day, weeks and some that went on for years. When it comes to protecting children, as a parent, it is among my greatest loves.

Trial Lab

newtriallabLights, camera action. Unlike Hollywood, life does not get multiple takes. When a serious hearing or trial is present, you often only get one shot to make a great first impression. How do you look? How do you sound? What should I wear? How do you say things? What you intend to convey and give off to others often is not how it actually is received. Created by Gregory P. LaMonaca, our “Trial lab,” with the aid of Cameras, video recorders and studio lighting, provides mock scenarios under real life conditions where we take photos, videos and audio which we play back on our big screen televisions and computers. We work with our clients to let them see, perhaps for the first time, how they present to others..

Appellate Unit

Appellate UnitSuffice to say that when parties cannot agree, go to court and a Judge makes a decision, often one side is not happy with the results. Often, the Judge makes the right decision under the law. In these cases, while a party may be unhappy with the results, there is nothing one can do at that time. In other cases, Judges, who are human, make the wrong legal decision. In certain circumstances, the aggrieved party has the right to file an appeal to a higher Court. If successful, the decision could be overturned, sent back for additional testimony or many other things. Our appellate unit can advise you of whether the matter can be appealed, should be appealed and other possible ways to proceed including asking the Judge to reconsider.

Child Abduction UnitWhat do you do if a child is taken without the consent of the other parent to another State? Country? What happens if you have economic disputes between States and Countries? With decades of experience reuniting parents with children who have been abducted to many other Countries, this highly specialized unit can mobilize teams to immediately begin the process. Protection From Abuse Unit

PFA UnitDomestic abuse is pervasive and often goes unreported. Victims fear coming forward for many reasons often due in part by threats that are made against them from the abusive party. You will never see the Children? You are not good enough? You will be destitute and broke? No one will believe you and many other threats that often paralyze them from moving forward. Our experienced, empathetic, compassionate team members have combined centuries of experience advocating for our clients with literally thousands of appearances fighting for clients rights and protecting their children.

Forensic Support Team

Forensic Support TeamWhen it comes to “protecting what matters Most,” in my 30 plus years in practice, coming in 2nd place behind ones children, is Finances. Finances include all assets, debt, child support, spousal support, alimony, alimony pendent lite, equitable distribution, counsel fees, costs, sanctions, businesses, valuations of businesses, assets and the like, trusts, estate planning documents and countless other financial concerns.
