The “Trial Lab” is an exclusive and innovative Specialty Unit, created and headed by LaMonaca Law founder, Gregory P. LaMonaca. The Unit combines over a century of combined family law skillsets that can be hand chosen and assembled to assist each of our client’s unique needs. Forensic Support Team
The incomes, assets, and liabilities of both parties, and of their “marital estate,” play a critical role in determining the financial result of family law cases. The financial matters at issue in these cases include divorce-related issues like equitable distribution of marital assets, alimony, spousal support and alimony pendent lite, and in other cases, child support. In any case, there may be other financial affairs and interests that become relevant. While some cases are relatively straightforward financially, others present complex issues, not least of which may be questions about sources of income available to the other party, now and in the future. Our Forensic Support Team, led by Larry Welsh, is a collection of resources and tools used to identify, evaluate, analyze, and ultimately to settle the financial aspects of financially complex family law cases.
Appellate Unit
The Appellate Unit is focused and practiced in pursuing family law appeals. While many attorneys handle various areas of the law within their practice, few venture into the world of appeals, as this area of the law is time-sensitive and driven by strict procedural requirements. Members of our Appellate Unit work hand-in-hand with our clients and with referring attorneys to provide the timely attention and detail needed to accomplish their appellate goals.
PFA Unit
Unfortunately, Protection from Abuse (PFA) orders are a common and often necessary part of family law. For both the protected party and the party against whom the PFA is issued, it is crucial to know both the civil and quasi-criminal implications of the PFA proceedings and order, as both may have serious legal consequences. This Unit is designed to master the civil and quasi-criminal blender that is PFA law, and it is comprised of our team members with great knowledge and experience in family law and criminal law. Members of this team represent clients in both civil and quasi-criminal aspects of PFA proceedings.

Created by our founder, Gregory LaMonaca in conjunction with Chief Legal Counsel, Lawrence Welsh decades ago, this unit concentrates in a highly specialized area of the law that most family law firms do not handle. Through their combined efforts, over the years, they have successfully retrieved children back from many states and foreign countries. Whether it be a child taken improperly across state lines or into other countries, we fight to protect the individual’s rights.
